“The person who has helped me overcome such injuries for almost a decade is Phil Burt.”

“The person who has helped me overcome such injuries for almost a decade is Phil Burt. I’ve worked with numerous physiotherapists but leading up to the Beijing and London Olympic Games I spent as much time talking to and seeking advice from Phil as from my coaches.

“I can honestly say that he did as much as anyone to keep me in one piece, especially in the build-up to London when at times my 36-year-old body seemed to be giving up on me. As well as being a really nice bloke, he is also a very big guy, so he is able to manipulate my back better than most.“But it is on the subject of bike position that Phil has become an expert. I perhaps wouldn’t have needed as much trial-and-error 15 years ago if I had known Phil then.”

– Sir Chris Hoy

“Phil Burt has probably spent more time looking at these issues with more of the world’s top athletes”

“Phil Burt has probably spent more time looking at these issues with more of the world’s top athletes and across more disciplines than any other person on the planet. So if you believe as I do that positioning will always be a blend of good science and good judgement, I think you can feel confident that both can be found between the covers of Phil’s book.”

“I have had the good fortune of working with Phil for the ten years as I have been a part of the British Cycling team.”

“I have had the good fortune of working with Phil for the ten years as I have been a part of the British Cycling team. Starting from when I was 16 years old, I was suffering from back pain while on the bike and in the gym. This is when I was first referred to Phil who adjusted my cleat position to account for leg length discrepancy, which fixed the pain.

“Since then, as I became a full time athlete, unfortunately I’ve had a series of back issues that have forced me to modify certain aspects of training. What I’m certain of, is that without Phil’s help, I wouldn’t have managed to progress to this point at all. He, along with the medical team, were excellent in understanding the issues and then working to resolve them. While this did include a lot of hands-on physical therapy, what I also thought was important were the movement screenings and analysis of any training risks, that Phil carried out. Which were aimed at improving underlying weaknesses rather than just treating symptoms.“I have struggled with lower back pain sometimes whilst sitting on a bike for long periods. Phil has been really helpful with adjusting my bike position to fit my needs. Over a series of sessions we adjusted my position slightly to rotate myself forward, therefore reducing pressure and flexion through my lower back.

“What I’m most grateful for, through my time working with Phil, is his ability to fully address the issue. In my case that has included various medical consults for better understanding of the problem, and then ongoing physical treatment and bikefit sessions to address it and improve the symptoms.”

“Having worked with Phil for the best part of 10 years, i know how valuable his skills are.

Being comfortable and efficient on your bike is half the battle as an elite cyclist, Phil made this seem simple and easy. Training as an elite athlete has huge affects on the body, Phil helped me recover from injuries quickly and also helped prevent me from picking up avoidable injuries. Phils knowledge is real gold”

“Phil was the one person who stuck his neck out and told me not only could it be done but guaranteed it.”

“In 2015 I prolapsed a disc in my lower back after a long road race. It was so bad I couldn’t move for 2 days off my couch .I went to see Phil, who to be fair had kept me fit and well over the last 2 Olympics, but whose skill I really needed now. I needed surgery to my back unfortunately.I have to say this was a real low point for me, six months until Rio 2016 and there I was laid down, unable to move. How was I going to get back from this and be Olympic Champion again?

“Phil was the one person who stuck his neck out and told me not only could it be done but guaranteed it. The confidence that gave me cannot be underestimated on the hard road of rehabilitation back. As a now 3 time Olympic Champion I have a lot to thank him for and wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who might need his unique skill set.”

– Ed Clancy MBE – 3 time Olympic gold Medalist

“What stood out to me is his ability to really listen, his empathetic nature and that he really is a sincere and genuine guy.”

“It goes without saying that Phil is an expert in his field and he is driven to resolve issues, find solutions and help deliver performance gains for athletes. However, from my years working with him, what stood out to me is his ability to really listen, his empathetic nature and that he really is a sincere and genuine guy.”
